Times and places for all finishers are recorded electronically by small personal transponders worn on the shoe or ankle of the participant. We will be using the AMB ChipX system, a state of the art timing system used by the Tour de France, and the Olympic Games.
This is the recommended option for larger events, and multisport events where swim, bike, run, and transition splits are desired. The AMB system can accurately time and place 80 athletes per second at speeds up to 45 miles per hour, with instantaneous results on demand. Individual timelines can be placed at your start line to record "Gun" and "Chip" times, as well as at transition entrance and exit locations, or mile markers, to record split times.
Chip timing also allows for personal information on each participant to be automatically transmitted to your race announcer via computer monitor.
If you are a racer interested in purchasing your own personal transponder, just CLICK HERE to order one today!
All AMB personal transponder owners (RED ProChips) are encouraged to create a personal MyLaps account and register their transponders. This value added service offers racers a free homepage that stores all of their results, allows them to analyze their individual performance as well their team's performance with the goal of improving strategies and results for future races. For more information about the MyLaps service go to www.MyLaps.com.
Racers who rent a transponder from their racing organization are able to view their race results only.
